Advice Hot Box Detector - Documentation

Description

The Twisted Trains Hot Box Detector is intended for model train hobbyists interested in railroad realism. This detector triggers announcements as a train passes, providing axle count, speed, and more. It offers the same functionality as real rail defect detectors.

The following announcements are fully customizable to match your railroad:

BNSF Detector Milepost 4.6: No Defects. Total Axles: 584. Temperature: 79.
UP Detector Milepost 2.8: First Hotbox East Rail Axle 2. Temperature: 73.
SP Detector Milepost 2.6: No Defects. Total Axles: 442.
Norfolk Southern: No Defects. Total Axle Count: 296.

Features

Dual infrared axle sensor/counter supporting two independent tracks
Six configurable annunciations, including axle count, speed, and train length
Audio annunciation with built-in speaker and volume control
USB port for PC connection and configuration

Installation

The installation consists of infrared sensors, a barrier board for mounting, and a control panel with buttons, volume control, and USB port.
